Resumen

The popularization of new technologies has facilitated the creation of a new business model, the Collaborative Economy. The aim of this paper is to check whether the Collaborative Economy can approach the Social Economy in some aspects. Specifically, the explicit involvement of these platforms with social responsibility and sustainability will be analyzed. For this purpose, a study has been carried out, on a base of 610 organizations classified as collaborative consumption, in Spain in January 2017. It has been found that as of May 2022 there are only 253 active, which shows a high volatility of this type of organizations. A sample of 42 of them is selected to check this commitment through a multiple indicator. The basis of the analysis will focus on the information published on their websites.
