Abstract
Introduction: Anxiety disorders have a high prevalence in the world (12,5 to 15%) and are reason of frequent consultation in primary health care. Objetive: To estimate the frequency of anxiety disorders in persons attended by outpatient medicine at the Primary Care Center Ucupe during March 2012. Material and Methods: Cross sectional study. Sample: Persons assigned to the health post that were attended by outpatient medicine during March 2012. Sampling: Consecutive non-propabilistic. The instrument used was Anxiety Screening Questionnaire (ASQ-15). Results: It was found as most common anxiety disorders to generalized anxiety disorder (69,2%) and major depressive disorder (69,2%), followed by panic disorder (53,8%). The main features were: female, married, and older than 50 years. 41,5% of patients had difficulty controlling worry and 40% had an impact on the development of their daily life and work.
