Abstract

Research on the property called Teresian pigeon house in Gotarrendura (Avila, Spain). Historical data which reveal the rural atmosphere that St Teresa may have had back in her childhood, in this family property. Archeological research done on the foundations of this palace-house, former residence of St Teresa’s mother’s family. Virtual recreation of the property atmosphere. Recollection of these rural scenes in St Teresa’s works. Symbolic meaning of these elements in her mystical experience. Traces of St Teresa’s realism in her childhood experiences.
