Resumen

This Thesis aims to evaluate the importance and the development of transversal competences of the Social Education Degree in University of Extremadura to compare with the recruitment for competences process and the degree of implementation of this model of HR management in institutions hosting trainees in Extremadura. There have been realized three empirical studies and a contrast in results between them. The methodology used has been quantitative not experimental and, inside this approach, a descriptive and comparative - causal analysis has been carried out across survey studies. The main results show that Competency based HR management model is not effectively implemented. Otherwise, Problem solving and decision making and Interpersonal skills are among the most valued and developed, while competences Leadership, Sensitivity to environmental issues, Working in other national or international contexts and Management by processes with quality indicators are among the least valued and developed. Likewise, transversal competences not included in the Degree like Work motivation, Responsibility at work, Basic knowledge of the profession and Resilience to stress are significantly better valued than competences with a lower valuation. Finally, following the model Martilla and James (1977), an overstrain is being made in Information management competence and it should focus on the increase of development of Adaptation to new situations competence.
