Abstract
The use of mobile devices raises questions about their impact on mental health and emotional well-being, particularly among adolescents, a population undergoing crucial emotional and social development. This study examines the relationship between state-trait anxiety, nomophobia (fear of being without a mobile phone), and FoMO (Fear of Missing Out, fear of missing out on social media experiences), considering gender and age. An ex-post-facto methodology was applied with cross-sectional surveys (NMP-Q, FoMOs, and STAI) to 205 adolescents aged 12 to 16 in Cádiz. The results show moderate levels of nomophobia and FoMO, significantly correlated with state-trait anxiety, especially among females. Additionally, FoMO predicts trait anxiety. These findings highlight the need for prevention programs and further research on these phenomena
